Ne esistono ben 3: LATINO, GRECO, CIRILLICO.
LATINO: le lettere maiuscole furono create dai Romani, mentre l'avvento delle minuscole avvenne più tardi. E' usato dalle principali lingue europee.
GRECO: è l'antenato del Latino e del Cirillico. E' utilizzato solo dalla lingua greca, ma compare molto nell'ambito della scrittura scientifica.
CIRILLICO: è un ramo del Greco e fu esportato dalla religione Ortodossa. Spesso lo si associa solo alla Russia, ma comparve prima in Bulgaria.
Alcune lingue balcaniche utilizzano entrambi Latino e Cirillico.

How many alphabets are in Europe?
There are 3: LATIN, GREEK, CYRILLIC.
LATIN: the capitals were created by the Romans, while the lowercases came after. It is used by the main European languages.
GREEK: is the anchestor of Latin and Cyrillic. It is used only by the Greek language itself, but it is very common in scientific writing.
CYRILLIC: is a Greek spin-off and it was exported by Ortodox Christianity. We often refer to as "Russian alphabet", but it came first in Bulgary.
Some of balkan languages use both Latin and Cyrillic alphabets.

*in the map there is also ARABIC alphabet. We can find it in the North of Africa. It isn't used by European languages, but it is the only one in this geographic area, which goes from right to left.
